I really like the idea of putting all the subjects I want to know about in a blogroll where I am access the updated information all the time.
RSS feeds is an optional part of a webpage that allows you to subscribe to it and receive updated information as you like.
Google Reader and Bloglines are two web based applications that allow you to access the feeds, and create an aggregator (a functional list) that alerts you to updated information and allows you to access the parts you want.
